I sat waiting outside a small grocery store today, and watched the people hurrying about their business. They all rushed about, focused on the task at hand. Moms with their children talking about dinner; a Dad racing his young daughter to the door; an environmentally conscious woman who actually remembered to bring those reusable grocery bags.
Then, I noticed one man with a bouquet of flowers, and then another, and then another. Finally, an older gent with flowers and beer. I wondered briefly if I’d missed a holiday on the calendar, but then realized it was simply Friday. Apparently these guys were seizing their opportunity to make a Friday night date special.
